The following morning we went to collect Tip.  The puppy that greeted John was not the pup with the least amount of white on him, it was the other pup.   John thought Hubert was having a joke with him but when Hubert asked Dorothy, his wife, which pup was John’s she replied that John had chosen the pup with the traditional markings.  How embarrassing, the other pup had already been collected.  Never mind, off we went with the other pup.  To this day John is convinced that Hubert had already decided which pup was to be his!

We have remained friends with John’s original choice of pup.  He is Linda Hutchinson’s Jed.

Tip spent his early years playing with Liz Edward’s son, Daniel (John was working for Premier Showjumps at the time), hence Tip’s love of children.

Tip has competed successfully in agility and working trials until he retired with a stretched cruciate ligament in 2002.  John did contemplate competing again following Tip doing the PD run through round at SATS championship working trial in March 2003 but decided that Tip having a sound and happy retirement was the best decision.  He does Allsorts jumping and thoroughly enjoys himself.
